Metrics

The primary end points in the MD1003 trial are EDSS and TW25.  I don't really want to use those as end points.  A couple of metrics that may make sense to me might be:

- time to claw foot during soccer games.  My right foot tends to make a fist when I'm playing soccer after the first few minutes.  At the point that this happens my balance and leg strength is also deteriorating.  Typically I play well for the first 5 - 15 minutes before things start to go downhill.

- distance to vibrating legs on the stationary bike.  I typically ride 2 - 4 miles on the stationary bike but my legs start to vibrate about 1 - 2.5 miles in.  For the remainder of the ride I push down on my knees with my hands to steady them.

  1. baseline rowing speed 4:00 per 100 stokes at a tension of 10. Range 3:15 - 4:45 per 100. Sessions 300 - 750 stokes. 5-6 x per week. 700+ means no bike that day.

    Baseline biking speed 6:00 per mile at a tension of 5.5. Range 5:30 - 6:45 per mile. Sessions 2-5 miles (5 miles means no rowing that day). 5-6 times per week.

    These times have stabilized after improvement in the first few months. Significant improvement would be noteworthy.

  5. This means 18 minutes to claw foot / deterioration in soccer performance, 3 miles without vibrating leg on the bike.

  6. The 1 leg stand times (median) will be plotted and examined for 20% improvement over the course of 9 months in the best fit trend line.

    This was the first time I thought maybe I should pause between measurements and fatigue may have been distinguishable from balance. I didn't pause though. For sake of consistency I wont pause.
